Commitment to Sustainability

Costa Rica Fashion Week 2024 stands out for its focus on sustainable practices, reflecting a growing environmental consciousness within the fashion industry. All participating designers are required to integrate sustainability into their designs, from the materials used to the manufacturing processes employed. This initiative not only promotes eco-friendly fashion but also educates the public on the importance of adopting sustainable practices.

One of the standout initiatives is tree planting. For every ticket sold, a tree will be planted, reinforcing the commitment to reforestation and offsetting the event’s carbon footprint. Last year, thanks to this initiative, 4000 new trees were planted, and this year, they aim to exceed that number.

Additionally, tree planting and beach cleaning activities will be carried out in collaboration with the Osa Tourism Chamber (CATUOSA). Luis Centeno, president of CATUOSA, detailed the planned beach cleaning activities, emphasizing the importance of keeping our natural environments clean and healthy.
