Banana Bread is a classic that is not only delicious but also an excellent way to use up ripe bananas. This bread is soft, moist, and full of flavor, making it perfect for breakfast or as a snack. Follow this recipe to make delicious Banana Bread at home.

Ingredients

  • Ripe bananas: 3 large, very ripe
  • All-purpose flour: 250 grams (2 cups)
  • Sugar: 150 grams (3/4 cup)
  • Butter: 75 grams, melted (1/3 cup)
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Walnuts: 100 grams, chopped (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 175 °C (350 °F). Grease a loaf pan about 22 cm (9 inches) long.

  2. Prepare the Bananas: In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth. Leave some lumps if you prefer a more rustic texture.

  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: Add the melted butter to the banana puree and mix well. Then, add the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir well to ensure the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

  5. Combine Mixtures: Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and gently stir with a spatula or wooden spoon. Do not overmix; it’s normal for some lumps to remain.

  6. Add Walnuts: If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts and mix gently.

  7. Bake: Pour the mixture into the greased loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then, remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
