In this article, we invite you to discover a simple and effective recipe for a liquid shampoo specially designed for adult dogs. Not only is it gentle and safe for their sensitive skin, but it also promotes a shiny and healthy coat. With easy-to-find ingredients and straightforward preparation, this recipe will allow you to care for your dog in a more natural and mindful way.
INGREDIENTS
YIELD: 2 units of 250 ml eachPREPARATION
PREPARATION TIME: Approximately 1 hourLiquid Phase
- 325 grams of distilled water.
- 10 grams of liquid vegetable glycerin.
- 51 grams of liquid Castile soap.
- 10 grams of cetearyl alcohol.
Oily Phase
- 100 grams of Argan oil.
Additives
- 10 drops of Basil essential oil.
- 30 drops of Chamomile essential oil.
- 5 drops of Citronella essential oil.
- 5 drops of Vitamin E.
- 15 drops of Tea Tree essential oil.
- Weigh each ingredient separately.
- Gently mix the distilled water with the liquid vegetable glycerin until you achieve a homogeneous liquid. Then, gently incorporate the liquid Castile soap without stirring too much (to avoid creating bubbles), and let the mixture rest.
- Melt the cetearyl alcohol in a double boiler, and once dissolved, add the Argan oil.
- Using a hand mixer, blend the oily phase into the aqueous phase (i.e., mix the preparation from step 2 and step 3).
- Add all the additives, mix well.
- Bottle the mixture.
Storage and Shelf Life
The shampoo can be used immediately; however, it is recommended to let it sit for at least 24 hours to enhance the synergy of the ingredients. You can store it in a plastic dispensable container. The product remains in good condition for up to 6 months.
Usage
Apply directly to wet fur and skin. The shampoo aims to clean and strengthen the hair, leaving it healthy and looking beautiful. Apply evenly, massaging gently, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Its main function is to remove dirt, grease, pests, and other impurities from the hair.
